Heartbur and reflux- Keep a food diary! If white bread and fruitouse or corn sweetener cause your problems, run to your discount pharmacy and buy products containing Bacilliscoagulans or other natural cultures or just eat yogurts NOT sweetened with fruitose. I am lactose and fruitose intollerent due to antibiotic as an infant. Replacing the good bacteria works miracle. Don, just try to dousr symtoms.
You might want to try DGL which should available at most health food stores or compounding pharmacies; I’ve even found it in some GNCs. The abbreviation stands for Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice & works by improving and restoring the integrity of the esophageal, stomach and duodenum lining. It does this by promoting mucus release and cell rebuilding. The mucus released provides gastrointestinal lining protection from acids and gives the lining time to rebuild and regenerated. The result is healing and strengthening of the affected tissue. I like to try more natural remedies before pharmacueticals when possible. Tony had tried one of the prescribed drugs earlier & couldn’t handle the drowsiness it caused. We tried this for his heartburn which had gotten so bad he was sleeping on an incline & his problem disappeared with 2-3 weeks, he even liked the taste as well as the price. His heartburn reoccurs occassionally but if it lasts more than a day or doesn’t respond to a TUMS; we just get another bottle of DGL & ptoblem is solved.
