I posted this recipe in another group, but these are so good that I have to spread the word. I'm always looking for new ways to celebrate berry season, and this is my new favorite. :-) I know fruit is high in sugar, but it's the *natural* kind, right? :-)
Toss a cup or two of fresh and frozen fruit into a blender (the frozen fruit acts like ice cubes and gives it that frostie kick without watering it down like ice cubes do)
Add a scoop or two of plain lowfat yogurt
Add a splash of orange juice (just a tad to help it blend)
I realize these measurements aren't exact, but I don't think they have to be--it's all good! If you prefer it a bit sweeter, sprinkle with Splenda. I've found wonderful frozen mango chunks and bags of frozen berries at the grocery store. Mix those with some fresh blueberries or strawberries and you're in heaven!
Does anyone else have healthy summer concoctions?
That sounds very refreshing. I really need to get that blender out of the cupboard for the summer months.
