That sounds good, but I need protein and/or fruit to get me through my midday slumps, such as a small serving of nuts with raisins and/orM&Ms or sliced apple with peanutbutter.
What I am currently challenged with, however, is re-training myself to drink more water. I often procrastinate getting up from my desk and rinsing out my bottle for a refill while at work.
Anyone have suggestions? Re-training myself to drink more water (beyond a mere 3-4 glasses a day) will definitely help me win the battle of the buldge which I've been fighting ever since I quit smoking earlier this year!
The suggestion about adding a bit of lemon, or lime is a good one, In Mexico almost any fruit or veggie is used to make a lemon water, carrot water, apple water, wheat grass w/ carrot, celery water. You get the idea. They put a little ice, along with choice of fruit or veggie into a blender, add water and blend until smooth. My girls liked one with cucumbers, celery, carrots, and wheat grass. They also liked carrots and oranges together in a water. I have seen many a working mom enjoying a refreshing "water" whenever they had a short break, kids carry them to school, and play times. About the closest I've come to seeing something like that here in the states is V8 juice
