There are some people who decide they want something, don't bother checking their finances or their checking account balance, but buy the item & never think twice about it.
Then there's the other end of the spectrum, where you know exactly where you stand with your finances, set aside money to pay for something, do your due diligence in selecting exactly what you want, but still feel nervous when you place the order .. wondering if you REALLY needed to spend "that much" money!
I guess almost everyone in this group is in the second category?
I earmarked about $2,500 for a new computer & printer. With tax, the total for the basics came out to about $100 more than that .. and I already felt that knot in my stomach, when I placed the orders online! And this from a person whose pc is 8 years old, and realized today that her printer is 18 (not a typo) years old .. am I not due for a new system?!
