In Response to RE: Bear Market for Bonds? by kom2010
The one thing about raising rates is the political side. I know, the Fed is supposed to be independent. But, I'm sure there is some 'pressure' from on-high to keep the rates down so borrowing is cheap and to keep the masses happy (well, most of them).
I have difficulty with inflation. We don't have the 'overall' inflation of olden days. We have inflation of some commodities, but not across-the-board in goods and services. I have not spent the time to look at what areas are under price pressure.
The average person feels inflation when going food shopping and filling up the car. But for purchasing household goods, not so much.
