There are often times of disconnect between what seems to be going on in the economy and what is happening in the markets. For instance, all the money the Fed has been pumping into the economy hasn't made it's way into the economy. Pretty much goes to the big banks. They are supposed to turn around and lend it out so that our economy can benefit from what is referred to as the multiplier effect ($1 becoming $8). That lending hasn't been happening. Yet the undelying economy is stabilizing and beginning to grow. There's no way to know if that will continue or not going forward, so stay flexible.
This topic is about market direction...each week I post a week-in-review that talks about previous week, what I see ahead and what I am doing in my client's portfolios. MORE IMPORTANTLY: I publish trending indicators that are designed to indicate whether the US and Canadian stock markets and the US bond markets are in an uptrend or downtrend. Feel free to check it out at www.guardingyourwealth.com.
