A few members of one of my other Groups complained that since the Daily Group Digest stopped being sent out, they weren't getting all or any notifications by e-mail, when new Topics or posts were made. It made thing laborious for them, to have to check all of their Groups regularly, looking for new material. So I've put together directions for settings to be checked/changed, so that you do get the e-mail notifications you want:
In the upper right of a Group’s main screen, there’s a list of 6 controls; the 5th one down is “Edit Message Preferences” .. click on that. A panel will come up allowing you to subscribe to ALL types of notifications for the Group, or whichever you want individually. Check the “Group Activity Notification” to get all, or check individual boxes for the notices you want. Then Click the “Save” button. This has to be done individually for each Group you want to track.
This should also mean that when you access a new Group Topic, you’re automatically subscribed to it. If you decide you’re not interested in that Topic, you can “Unsubscribe” from it individually, and not get e-mail notifications about new posts to it.
Now go to your Profile screen & click on “Edit Profile”. You may have to log in again just for that. That will automatically bring you to the “Account Info” tab. Click on the “Alerts” tab instead. Make sure the box next to “Community Notifications” is checked. Exit your Profile.
You should now get e-mail notifications for new Topics & posts in the Group(s) to which you’ve subscribed, as well as e-mail notices for private, public & Group Administrators’ messages sent to you.
