I am 46 years old; my husband is 71. Together we have eight children. Two years ago, I went from 212 pounds to a very lean size 2 (5'10") and achieved a goal I secretly held for 16 years--competing in a natural (drug free) body building competition. I competed and won many titles nationally and internationally. Then, while training in 2008 to compete again, I met and married my husband. It's amazing how major life changes can throw one off-track and back into old habits! During our first year together, we moved, his brother passed away, his teenage son moved in, and you know...life happened. I quit working out, went back to eating lots of unhealthy food, and within three months I had put on about 30 pounds. That kept creeping up to over 50 pounds in the first year!
I am sad to say, I let it all get away from me. Now it is time to forgive myself and enjoy that I am on this journey again...for the last time. The good news is I know how to do it. I am happy to share some of the strategies I used, like the proper way of eating, how to get my metabolism revving like a sportscar, and how to deal with the emotional issues that held me back. I look forward to both the support and the accountability that this group will give me. It all starts with a decision. Like Anthony Robbins says, "It's your commitment to your decisions and not your conditions that shape your destiny."
Have a wonderful day and be good to yourself!
I am overweight. Even though it is causing me health problems I cannot seem to stop binging! I do not eat much food, I am practically dormant year round, I am bipolar so I do get depressed a lot and the only thing I find that soothes my empty soul are sweets!
I could really use some tips and especially encouragement.
