Hello, I just wanted everyone to know that I have lost my first 50 pounds (yesterday). It feels absolutely wonderful. I have more energy and already able to do many things I haven't done in a long time. I retired from a stressful job over a yar ago. I just let myself go. I got rid of the stress and managed to put on more weight. In January, my husband passed out. He needed a pacemaker put in. Once that was over, he decided he wanted to lose weight. We started together. I try to eat 1300-1500 calories a day. Plenty of lettuce, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, etc. I lost my first 36 pounds in two months which is unbelieveable! Now, 3 1/2 months later, I have lost 50 pounds. We have a pool in the backyard and I swim at least 20 minutes a day, sometimes twice a day. I have set goals for myself in the form of small weight loss pounds. First was 10% of my body weight, second was to get me to the 300 pound mark. My next goal will be for 10% of my 300 pounds. It seems that when I set a goal without a timeline, I don't worry about not meeting my goal and I am able to continue to lose. It also helps that my husband is in this with me. I have also been going to the doctor regularly and have dropped some medications and reduced others. That is probably the best news. My recent friends can see a change in my weight. Those who knew me before I retired have not noticed because I am back to the weight I was when I quit. I appreciate being able to read forum and group journals in this group and the Fat2Fit group. I don't always write, but I do read and much makes me appreciate my own abilities to become healthier. Thanks for being there.
Wow, what a great inspiration!! It's a wonderful thing to see such great results in such a short amount of time.
I have lost 23 lbs since I satrted this in April, but am stuck where I am right now. I need to lose another 27 to reach my goal. I think the exercise thing may have something to do with it!! . I am diabetic so I am losing by eating no carbs, sugar, wheat, flour, caffiene, soda.I just drink the best thing....................WATER! I weigh and measure all my food and this keeps me disciplined!
Good luck on your new journey!!!
