It is my hope to loose 52 # over this next year. I found this group and thought that it was worth a try. I am currently in a class called Healthy Living and also one called Healthy Eating Every Day. Both of them have been a great help. They are through a Senior Group here in San Antonio. So far I have been able to increase my activity and improve the choice or portion sizes. Still with a long way to go.
Welcome to our group! You are in the right place for [more] support with your quest to loose 52lbs. Also, consider joining the Fat2fit group -- it gets more postings than the 50lbs or more group.
As Joseph said, you seem to be doing the right thing with your healthy living class and healthy eating every day.
My target when I signed up 3 months ago was 60 lbs to lose by Thanksgiving, and have lost about 20lbs to date. I had to recognize that the portions I was eating were far too big and also that I had a far too sedentary lifestyle. Adopting healthy eating habits worked out okay for me, but I have to push myself to exercise. Having done well with exercise (30 minute daily walks and 10 minutes daily free weights) I had a stressful period and stopped exercising properly. I am now back exercising regularly and have got as far as jogging my extended walking route. Perhaps I will be running in another month. But the period when I stopped exercising made me realize that I have to push myself to exercise even when stressed. The funny thing is, exercise makes me feel so much better -- improved posture, more energy, and decreased appetite (no comfort eating) and yet I fear I might again stop if I don't keep determined.
You have shared you weight loss goal -- it is eminently sensible and "doable" -- what are your exercise goals?
Good luck with your endeavors!
