ProPbulica has a list of the physicians that have received benefits (direct payments) from Drug Companies. http://www.propublica.org/series/dollars-for-docshttp://www.propublica.org/series/dollars-for-docs
Will GOP folks ignore this? Will they demand more restrictions that may actually affect them, or will they demand that the FDA be disbanded? It is like many things - PR groups for Big Pharma have been demanding that FDA become even less effective and monitoring and approving new drugs - and this is the result.
Medicare Part D - may indeed be wildly popular, but the downside is that an individual who doesn't / won't/ can't be bothered to do their own homework on the risk of taking medications may be to blame for part of the very problem that some have been complaining about - Medicare is too expensive!
The history of how this program was pushed through Congress is a sad one and as Orrin Hatch so poetically stated: We often passed legislation that was never paid for.....and Part D is a shining example.

Thank you for the amazing link. I put the name of all my physicians and they all appear. I guess they have been taken to lunch by the reps. Well, I guess the Internet is really something.
I am the kind of individual that researches everything especially any new drug that they may prescribe, and some times have gone back and told my Dr. I am not taking this, I don't think I need it
Now my husband is another matter, whatever any Dr tells him he will simply nod his head and do as the Dr says like a good little boy.
I agree we all need to be more proactive these days. because the laws that are handed to us are in many ways suspect.
