What is Limited Government Conservatism?
It is a political philosophy that limits the scope and function of our government to But For and limits how much of that it does to Within Revenue so it does that at a consistent level every year, year to year, decade to decade, generation to generation.
I'm not going to argue that we could never limit the function and scope of our government (we can), and I agree that what we keep should be adequately funded (a no brainer). What I do not agree with is the way our current Republican party is going about it. They are using things like the debt ceiling as leverage to create crisis situations, then proceeding to slash and burn what they hate, mostly domestic and safety net programs. This approach cuts the vast majority of people out of the decision making about what and where to cut. If we're going to trim the size and scope of our government, then the entire country needs to have a say in what gets cut and not left to the whims of a few hardcore ideologues.
