Paying taxes should NOT be the reason anyone lives in poverty, so a single deduction for a "living wage" (125% of the poverty level perhaps?) should be part of the reform. Beyond that, agree that there should be NO deductions - for people or corporations.
And for Corporate tax reform, something along these lines: a "special" tax of 100% on any and all profits retained outside the US, the collection to be made by seizing and selling the companies US assets if necessary, and when convicted of this violation, banning the company from doing business inside the US for 10 years. Their execs think the 3d world is a great place to find workers and hide money, then they can look for customers there as well.
In Response to Re: INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX LOOPHOLES:
It is time to eliminate ALL loopholes and fix the tax code. This means the instructions should be simple and there should be NO deductions (or credits) for anything. The tax code's purpose is to insure collection of revenue to operate the government and nothing more. It should NOT have as a primary (or secondary) goal to encourage good or bad behavior.
Businesses or farmers should not receive any additional deductions either.
