Krik............when you announce that you are renouncing/refusing your Medicare and Social Security, then come on here and preach your "Reichwing" BS.....but we all know that you, and other SENIOR "Reichwingers" will never do that, even if it was possible.
It's VERY easy to spew "Reichwing" garbage when you BENEFIT from the GOVERNMENT. And, yes, Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, even though we pay into them, are GOVERNMENT programs. But it does is advertise the HYPOCRISY. And it has to be hard to look in the mirror and live with yourself knowing that the HYPOCRISY is there for all to see................
Golf.. is the one who touts medicare as an example of a great "single payer" system. It's not because it doesn't pay the bills and most of us have to have a medigap insurance to avoid higher payments !
I don't see how having the government pay for health care assures that costs will come down or that we will automatically get better care. The VA has had it's problems with consistent country-wide good care also. If there is no profit incentive only when things get really bad and are publicized do government agencies improve or become more efficient. With true competition (no monopolistic excesses allowed) private businesses have an incentive to be efficient and improve and innovate. Granted we haven't had politicians who do the work to control business excesses on either party .
