Why doesn't it surprise me that George Zimmerman, murderer/domestic abuser, is still a hero on the right?? They celebrate him because he killed a black teenager, and to them every black teenager is a "thug". ("Maybe some of the other thugs will learn a valuable lesson from this unnecessary death!" says NOT.) Could you possibly make a more bigoted comment?
NOT asserts confidently that "Zimmerman did all the right things" (presumably including shooting this boy) and that no one told him not to follow Martin. He also asserts confidently that Martin assaulted Zimmerman when there is no evidence of this beyond Zimmerman's word. Haven't we learned what Zimmerman's word is worth? Haven't we learned that it is Zimmerman who picks the fights and assaults others?
Zimmerman was acquitted because of Florida's Stand Your Ground law, a bad law that makes it possible to murder with impunity, since you alone are left to tell the story. And for all the geniuses who want to jump in here and tell me that Zimmerman's team didn't raise the Stand Your Ground defense, I am very, very aware. The judge included the Stand Your Ground law in his instructions to the jury.
If it isn't obvious by now who began this fatal encounter, then nothing will change your mind. The only thug here is George Zimmerman--what a tragedy that he didn't end up behind bars where he can't hurt anyone else.

In Response to Re: Zimmerman NOT GUILTY:
Bottom line here is Zimmerman went out looking for trouble, and he got it. He should have listened to the police dispatcher and stayed in his car. Instead, he wanted to act like a big man with his gun, and be seen as a hero. He is no hero. He killed a young man who was walking home from the store. It doesn't matter what Travon's past held. George Zimmerman is no shining example himself. He should have left the police work to the experts. And, for his act of unbelievable stupidity and ego, been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter at the very least!

Bottom line here is Zimmerman was the "crime watch" person on duty at a gated complex that had several robberies by someone fitting the description of Martin. Martin was walking very slowly (in the rain) and Zimmerman did all the right things by notifying police and continuing following him. He was under no obligation to stop following Martin. He didn't act like a "big man" with his gun and only pulled it when Martin was slamming his head into the ground (attempting to kill Zimmerman) while straddling him.
The reason why Zimmerman wasn't found guilty is because he WASN'T! Maybe some of the other thugs will learn a valuable lesson from this unnecessary death!
