Duh! Of course the system was broken. About 50 million people did not have health insurance at all. People with insurance were finding out that when they really needed coverage it was not adequate or they were being dropped. People with preexisting conditions could not get health insurance. When people without health insurance go to the hospital the rest of us pay for them with higher local, state and federal taxes and with higher health insurance rates. People without insurance tend to be sicker when they do go to the doctor. Many of those people without health insurance go to the Emergency Room when they need to see a doctor at rates ten times the cost of a normal doctor visit. We pay two to four times more for our health care system than other rich industrialized countries and our treatment outcomes in our health care system are worse than any other rich industrialized country. Need I go on?

You speak the truth. I hope you don't expect any of what you posted to be even weakly considered by the likes of the Far Right Curmudgeons that post here. Complaining, Obama bashing and general is their forte, don't expect anything else.
People with good sense know how screwed up our health care system was and is in America (We had no health care system). At least the ACA addresses many of the problems. It doesn't go near far enough because of the obstructionism in Washington. HR676 should be adopted and I believe that a single payer system is almost inevitable for us ................ we should do it now.
