Any who use the civil war era to show exclusive racism of the Republican Party, is ill-informed at best. They need to do some research of the KKK, Jim Crow laws, etc..
Sorry to burst anys bubble, but the Dems have a terrible record with their treatment of blacks. Google Wayne Perryman!

Using Perryman as an example proves nothing. Using one or two people like him proves nothing. You're grasping at straws. That's like a company hiring one or two blacks or promoting one or two to management positions then saying 'we're not prejudiced'. Look at the overall picture. How many comments were made that 'we don't want a black in our White House' was made during the 2008 elections, especially? Why the intense opposition by Republicans against Obama as a President, which is unparalleled in our history?
Why did the Southern Democrats oppose the civil rights laws of the 1960s? Why did they abandon the party that held a majority in the South since the Civil War? Are you from the South? Did you grow up here? As one poster has said many times here, you have no idea of what you are talking about.
