In Response to Re: Social Security COLA Cuts:
That's a good question. I've never thought about it until now. Perhaps nydrn could shed some light. I don't know about "the list" of similar topics she is referring to but she is quite an experienced poster on other forums. I do know that new or infrequent posters will frequently go back to browse threads that interest them. I used to spar with someone online who actually made a habit of resurrecting old threads...particularly HERS...as if no one got the point of what she was saying. The trouble was that they did...and not many had a comment to make for obvious reasons. I digress. It's neither here nor there in that case but newer members do it because they are getting up to speed in a forum that flows fast and furiously. I've hardly posted here since the new platform was "rolled out" because it's more complicated to separate out the posts (to me) and I have problems trying to go to previous screens, thereby limiting my ability to "fact check" my perceptions of what has been discussed on a particular thread. That's all I'll say about that now because I don't want to get "off-topic."

When you go to start a new discussion and type the topic line, after you hit enter, a word or words from older existing discussions will appear as a list and you can cchoose to use an older existing discussion rather than start another one.

I haven't started a new discussion in quite a while now...probably due to the fact that the new platform has created problems of access for me. I'm sort of afraid I'll be opening Pandora's Box! I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the information!
