Who determines if it is properly read?

My wife and I love the SyFy channel... except I hated when they changed their name from SciFi. It seems to be more SEE FEE (pronouncing it) than Sci Fi!
I like Star Trek the Original Series (tied with first - Spock), Star Trek the Next Generation (favorite - Commander Data), Star Trek Voyager (favorite - Seven of Nine), Star Trek Enterprise (favorite - T'Pol), didn't really care for Star Trek Deep Space Nine. So do you see a theme in most of my favorite characters in Star Trek? The analytical ones.
I only believe in what I can see or touch, so to speak, or it makes logical sense. It's like the phrase in one of the star trek movies, "when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth".
From my research the actual quote is from Franciscan friar William of Ockham: "If you have two theories that both explain the observed facts, then you should use the simplest until more evidence comes along".
Using Spock's version is what I've lived by most of my life (even before I heard of it); and its served me well. I look at the facts, in a scientific manner, and make the choice. I have to thank my 9th grade science teacher, and my AFJROTC instructors for that, or should I say the start of my belief in Occam's (or Ockham's) razor. I've always liked science, but they helped re-inforce things the Occam's (or Ockham's) razor principle.
DO I BELIEVE IN "SHADES OF GRAY" THAT MOST PEOPLE TALK ABOUT? NO! THERE IS ALWAYS A SINGULAR RIGHT ANSWER TO ANY QUESTION.
