You could be right that Cheney is still creating fear, as he has let fear take over his thinking. There is another alternative however. It could be that he keeps preaching fear because he has lost his power, and preaching fear keeps him in the public eye, and makes him feel that he still has a grip on that power...
However, I also believe that living in fear is an individual 'choice'. A choice that I have chosen not to make. I will not live my life in fear. I have a far better chance of getting killed in a car accident than I do from a terrorist attack. Yet, I will not quit driving or riding in a car. I could fall in the bathtub tomorrow, hit my head and die. Yet, I will not stop showering. The same goes for anything we do. To live in fear would mean to shut myself up and not really live.
I agree that harping on 9/11, is a dangerous thing, as there are those who will listen and make that 'choice' to live their lives in fear.
I think we all just need to think a little more rationally and go on with out lives. Afterall, the odds of getting killed from a coconut falling on your head, getting killed by a meteor, dieing in a car, plane or train accident, or a fall, are all greater than the odds of getting killed in a terror attack.
Let's think a minute; do you really think we have a better chance of being killed by a falling coconut than a terrorist attack???? I don't think we should let fear overwhelm us; but there are people who hate America and it's citizens.
