You are bringing up a point that many other states besides California have. So has Texas, So has Arizona, any border state has the illegal problems. and tax consequences. I don't deny that a comprehensive Inmigration bill should help California. but that has nothing to do with the fact that California is probably one of the best states in the US. And if what you are saying becomes a reality. I will run not walk to be able to claim citizenship.
I can tell you, that my fellow Republicans, are not the same Republicans that I have had the pleasure of meeting where I live today. I am very pleased to say, that I don't associate with any of them. The culture that is prevalent in these states is something else. Sometimes I feel that I am in a different country.
I know I am in a different country. The country I grew up in was a country of laws where the criminals were punished and illegals were deported. The country I grew up in did not have its hand out wanting the federal government to give them everything they needed from cradle to grave. The country I grew up in would have stood up to the petty dictators around the world and not let itself be bullied. The country I grew up in would have never bowed down to another country (remember Jesse Owens at the Berlin olympics). The country I grew up in would have required people to assimilate into our society rather than making our society assimilate into their (bi-lingual, products with two languages, ballots in multi-languages, etc.). You are right. It is a different country.
