We don't receive SS yet (and from the looks of things probably never will), but this might be a hardship on those that depend on it. Especially giveen the hoop-la about this year's increase being the largest in decades due to the economy.
There was a similar blurb in our newspaper and my husband came with the paper and showed me the news. I contacted Social Security, and they told me that they were not aware of any kind of suspension of the Cola increases by the Congress, They told me that Congress would be the one that would have to deal with that.
As i read it the second time, I became aware of the fact that there is nothing that has been accepted regarding to the cola increase, In Oct. of this year, whey they apparently present the budget, the cola increase will be in accordance to the rate of inflation. and by law, they cannot stop a cola increase unless Congress steps in.
