We laugh because we think there is nothing we can do to stop the loss of our liberty, our financial future and our control on government. If circumstances were'nt so serious...they would be funny. If we continue in the direction we are going...the financial future of not only our generation, but of those to come, will be lost.
Although the main stream media (MSM) won't cover, there is a rising revolt in this country. The Constitution allows for citizens (which created and is to control government) to change the existing Goverment whenever leadership forgets whom they represent. Whether still working or retired, we are still citizens and I would hope - Patriots. The time to peacefully and politely protest is NOW.
If Congress had to rely on the same SS you do for retirement...there would be less misuse and more oversight. Currently, married couples are penalized as the spouse can only receive 50% of earned benefits. Does anyone else see this as discriminatory? Friends of mine are divorcing just to increase monthly income!
If Congress had only 2 Terms such as our President...their efforts would be more productive and in our favor.
If Congress had to find, qualify and pay for their own health premiums...there would be greater effort to change the system.
If Congress were required to "read and review" all bills prior to voting ... maybe more sense would be reflected in the legislation proceeding out of Washington.
I could go on and on. Find out about any local "Tea Parties" scheduled for your area. Join and participate. Join me in Boston, MA. on July 4th and throw your tea into the ocean at the "2nd Boston Tea Party" in protest of our lack of leadership and poor representation.
Hold your signs high so Washington can see: WE ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS. WE VOTE. WE'RE MAD AS HELL AND WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK!
--- Off of my soap box now ---
Have a nice day.
I must tell you that there was an article in the paper the other day about the Tea Party held in Orlando. It started out saying that 'God-fearing' people were there and that should have been enough to explain the problem! It's been a long time since I've heard that term and it just doesn't make any sense to me. Why would anyone who believe in God, fear this wonderful Presence that blesses us with abundance, joy, abilities and so many other ways, FEAR Him?!?!?!?
Sure enough, the article gave several quotes and people said they were 'scared' or 'afraid'! Fearing God is the epitomy of paranoia. It would have been so much better for all of us if these people were spending their time helping others in our community to achieve their goals. As I rode home from church yesterday, I saw a nicely dressed lady going down the street with good-size cloth bag, handing out foil-wrapped sandwiches to people who appeared in need of nourishment. I believe God is blessing her in so many ways for her love of His other children.
