The house across the street from mine in a working class Miami neighborhood was sold for $79K and resold within a month for $125K. It as then reflipped in two months for $179K. Flipper no. 3, however was not so lucky: she bought it with borrowed money, and her plan was to divide the double lot, resell just the house on the single lot, and build another house on the other lot.
Wow I'm surprised. That's ridiculously cheap for a house. You can't even buy an 80 year old house on a small 50x80 ft lot in the poor part of town here in San Diego for less than $250K unless it's in poor shape. A 3 bedroom house in just a low to average middle class neighborhood here sells for around $375-$475. Even a 3 bedroom Condo brings $300k-$350K. Rent for a 3 bedroom house is $1900-$2500/mo. A 2 bedroom apartment rents for $1300-$1700 in a working class area. I thought Florida Real Estate was supposed to be similar to Southern California, I guess not.
Another difference between the 2 states, I cut down a tree in my front yard and it didn't cost me anything other than what I paid to have the stump removed.
