This is all over the local news. I am very familiar with the neighborhood where those women went missing. It is a working class neighborhood that has seen better days. It is largely white, but has a large Hispanic population that has moved into the neighborhood in recent years. Amanda Berry's mother passed away a few years ago, mostly from all the strsss associated with her daughter's disappearance. I go into that neighborhood many times a month as part of my job and business.
When those women went missing, there was a huge manhunt for them and no stone went unturned. Their pictures were posted all over the city, but police believe that whoever took them was someone from the neighborhood. Here is a link from the local television news:
It is great that the women were found alive after all those years. No one expected to see them alive again and even the police believed that when they were found, it would be skeletal remains. It would be interesting when more information becomes available about the man who was arrested in their disappearance. Talk about being hidden in plain sight; the location where they were found is only a few miles from where they disappeared a decade ago.
