Let us note that both personal AND corporate tax rates are LOWER now than they were after JFK's tax cuts.
Here is something else in JFK's Inaugural address:
" Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
In 1960, this could have meant that he was all for supporting the armed invasion and overthrow of the governments of the Warsaw Pact nations, the USSR and the People's Republic of China.
Let's face it: JFK said some pretty stupid things. We are fortunate that he did not follow through on this one, for sure. I remember that I voted for JFK and was eligible for the draft and I said to myself "whoa there! I am not willing to pay and price or bear any burden to liberate China or defend Chiang Kai-Shek."
