I can see you have not spent any time with union members. With very few exceptions AFL-CIO members and members of other unions I have worked with would not be willing to lose jobs to lower paid "reformed' illegal aliens and chances are the baseball bats would come out long before a hand of friendship.
I observe that there was little or no opposition to Trumka's speech by the union membership, and not a baseball bat in sight.
I do not doubt, however, that you would prefer the baseball bats.
Face it: there is NO WAY this country is going to deport 15 million people. Many of these people have been here for decades. They are pretty much living lives just like you do, except that they do not appearto be as obsessed.
The Republicans cannot declare that they want a mass deportation, because they would immediately lose ALL of the Hispanic vote. Hispanics who are here legally do not want to be forced to carry ID with them unless everyone is required to do so, and the GOP will never advocate a universal ID law or they will lose the votes of the extreme right. So forget a bill from the GOP.
The Democrats depend on the Hispanic vote, and of course will not go against the wishes of their constituents. No sane party will do this.
The Teabaggers are an assortment of aging ninnies who have no actual party or candidates, and have less a chance of being elected than the Libertarians, who have zero chance.
You are plumb outta luck with this issue. Your only hope (unless you know Obi Wan Kenobi) is to pass that anti-immigrant birth amendment. There is no chance that constantly posting the same stuff here again and again is going to do more than convince everyone that you are obsessed beyond help.
