In Response to Re: Getting sick doesn't pay for U.S. workers:
Most civilized countries have mandatory (sometimes unlimited) sick paid leave (with an MD certifyingthe illness/condition). Instead we have Repugs. If we get rid of the Repugs, we can have universal health care AND paid sick leave. Of course, the RW will rant that American business cannot afford this and we'd become "uncompetative" JUST LIKE GERMANY.... oh, gee, they'll probably not want to discuss how the Germans have been doing this for generations and are still the most productive folks around.

If we had a Single Payer System, the companies wouldn't have to cry foul regarding how much their costs are regarding the healh care that they provide their employees. We all would pay into the system, via our taxes which would become a lot higher than what they are today. Many have been so accostumed in having companies pay for their health care that they cannot conceive paying for it out of their pockets. But, eventually that is what will happen. No one should be a burden on anyone else. no business or individuals. It is our responsibility to deal with our health care. So lets all pay a fair amount and stop all of this crying.
