Face facts....what the right wants is a return to their days of Wine and Roses when money flooded into their bank accounts from our tax dollars. Now, these good ole bois are actually going to have to break a sweat, get those syrupy mitts dirty and do that four letter word they detest most...W-O-R-K...And if they are lucky...we won't stagnate THEIR CEO salaries like they did to millions of Americans who had enough of that 8 years of a bystander playing frontman for Cheney.

Truer words have seldom been posted or said. President Obama is a very good leader and there is no comparison with his predecessor who christened himself as "The Decider". A dictator is a 'decider" since what he says is law and no one dares oppose him. GWB had a rubber stamp congress for most of the time he occupied the white house. Of ocurse when you are the "decider", it is possible that one can also make wrong decisions. For that GWB was a master at making the wrong decisions.
We all admire Lincoln as a great president as well as a great leader. But if one studies history carefully, Liincoln was not very popular when he was president. His re-election in 1864 was in serious doubt until union victories in Georgia and the south convinced most voters that the civil war can be won decisively. But Lincoln practically assumed dictatorial powers during his tenure as president.
If you saw the movie last winter about Lincoln that documented very well all the dealing that he had to do in order to have congress pass the 13th amendment abolishing slavery. Lincoln was not above offering bribes and making deals to get what he wanted. He offered cushy federal jobs to lame duck congressmen if they would vote his way. In addition Lincoln authorized even cash bribes be paid for key votes on the amendment. If President Obama tried that in congress, he would be impeached right away.
President Obama is taking his case directly to the people, the voters who elected him to a second term. He is making full use of the "bully pulpit" that Theodore Roosevelt used very effectively when he was president. Of course the right wing does not like it one bit and calls it more campaigning. But that is part of being president when congress is being obstructionist. Woodrow Wilson did that trying to rally support to have congress approve the treaty and allow the United States to join the League of Nations and he paid a severe price for that.
If President Obama brokered a peace arrangement that allowed a democratically elected government in Syria, negotiated a peaceful re-unification of North and South Korea, convinced the Iranian people to kick out those theocrats and their nut case of a president, ended the conflict in Afghanistan, found a way to re-employ all the unemployed in the United States and found a way to balance the budget; the right wing would stil not be satisfied. They are just flat out Obama haters.
The truth is that President Obama is perhaps more of a leader than Ronald Reagan. The problem is that when Reagan was in the white house, he had a far more sane congress to deal with than Obama has. Back when Reagan was in the white house, there was a Democratic controlled house led by Tip O'Neal. He would sit down with Reagan over some whiskey and work out a deal that he could take to the house and the house would act. I cannot imagine President Obama sitting down with John Boehner over some merlot and doing the same thing. Even if the president and Boehner did that, Boehner couldn't get the crazies in the house to go along with any compromise with the president.
The problem is not the president's leadership qualities. The problem is that there are too many crazies in the Republican party in congress who refuse to acknowledge that President Obama is the president and will be president until January 20 2017.
Republicans are great at campaigning that "government is broken"; then when they get elected, they prove that government is really broken and they are the reason.
