I have zero respect for Concerned75 who almost never posts anything I agree with, but there is a certain amount of truth with this thread. From day one, the Republicans have dominated the conversation on the Affordable Care Act and lied about it every way possible. That's the impression which stuck with most people.
On the flip side, the Democrats ran away from the bill they passed and hid in their little offices like a bunch of wimps. They never countered the radical right wing lies with the truth and never took the time to explain to the American people how this law works.
As of April 2013, I would state at approximately 98% of Americans have no clue how the Affordable Care Act will impact their lives. Incidently, that's also true for many of our forum members.
There's a lot to like about the ACA but there's also a lot which needs to be modified. But any way you look at the bill, it's far better than anything the Republicans offered which was essentially the status quo.
