WELL? SHOULD IT, OR NOT?
WHAT LEGAL PRECEDENTS EXIST FOR EACH SIDE?
NO, I CAN'T SEE THE UTILITY OR HUMANITY IN PROSECUTING PARENTS WHO HAVE LOST A CHILD, BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT ANYONE WHO ALLOWS THAT SHOULD LOSE THE RIGHT TO POSSESS FIREARMS FOR LIFE. PERIOD. Posted by alferdpacker
I think free access to firearms is comparable to leaving matches, prescriptions, the Drano, or any number of deadly items unsecured around the home . Parents have the responsibility to protect their children by keeping these things locked, secured in a safe place, or whatever it takes to keep them out of the kids hands. I don't care if the parents live somewhere with a strong gun culture, what could sane adults be thinking to leave a gun propped in a corner like it was a freaking umbrella? Just as bad, was when they said they thought it was unloaded. Excuse me, but shouldn't that have been a number one priority, not an after thought?
