It just makes sense that anyone making a modest salary that gives them a decent life-style can't survive when they lose that job. No one can go from making a Middle class wage down to one that is supposed to sustain a family on minimum wage. The Middle class family has much to lose as they've usually invested in a home, are able to afford a car, insurances, utilites, purchasing power and a means to educate their children.
It's happening in most areas of the country where people, who aren't even unionized, lose a $15 an hour job with some benefits to a foreign country. It's even more devastating for those who make higher salaries. It has a domino effect as everything related to job loss destroys a city or community. Yet, the people are somehow blamed when it's the big corporations who leave the country for huge profits, but don't give a thought about those whose lives have changed for the worse. As people have more idle time on their hands, with no sustainable jobs, despair permeates a region where corruption and crime arises.
The many people who lost money in their investments after the financial collapse in 2008 were somehow being held responsible for their losses. It was attributed to bad investments, buying a home or re-financing it, but never holding those accountable who profited off their losses.
