In Response to Re: Why Divorce Attorneys Will Love Obamacare:
BTW I want to thank you on your service as a volunteer RN, I don't know how you all do it. How ironic that a noble profession such as yours pays nothing while slip and fall lowlife lawyers make a fortune.

Noble profession, paying nothing? RN's are paid a premium in this area and are very much in demand.
Why would a person in a 'Noble' profession be bad-mouthing an act that opens up affordable health care to those who can't afford it?
Of course it's not perfect, and it got off to a bumpy start, but look at the scope of the program. Medicare went smoother but met opposition and it's still a work in progress. So will the Affordable Care Act.
A comment from a discussion site I'm on that's located in the UK has to say about government health care:
"....just get a full national health system that is free for all and paid for by taxation which actually works out cheaper per person than paying insurance (I think). This then takes the power of healthcare out of the insurance companies hands.
"Obviously our current government are trying to privatise our health care system so we probably won't have one soon enough.
"I read an article the other day about trying to make your healthcare bills as small as possible in the US when you have a medical issue or an emergency. It covered things like knowing which local hospitals and medical centres work with your insurance so you're fully covered where other places don't. Then there's certain procedures that might not be covered if they're done by the wrong person or place? Or something along those lines.
"Are these things you have to think about? Are there certain medical places you won't go to because your insurance doesn't cover them?
"Obviously you'd hope it's a rare occasion that such incidents happen but if I was in a car crash or had some nasty accident the last thing I'd want to be considering is whether I can afford the hospital I'm being taken to."
