I guess it's my turn. My husband and I live in Oklahoma City, OK, zone 7. We are fairly lucky with weather, as it is fairly moderate. We have 2 ponds....one large in which we have koi and the other is much smaller and we keep our fancy goldfish in that. We also have a lotus bog/pond in which we have nothing but our lotus tubers. We have had our larger pond for about 9 years now and from our original 4 koi, we now have 17 koi...about 3 feet...and a great variety of colors. We have the butterfly koi, the diamond scale koi and the regular koi. Surrounding our pond we have a lovely spread of Rice Paper plants and each year their tubers send out new plants for us. In our ponds we have waterlilies, horse-tail, taro's, water celery, water clover, bloody dock, and duck weed. Although we live in the middle of a city, we have managed to create an area that has many plants and the sound from the waterfalls is very soothing. I will be adding photos soon.
