In Response to RE: What Is The Biggest Challenge? by Prosecco62
There's nothing glib about suggesting someone practice looking people in their eyes and smile. I never even hinted there was anything wrong with anyone who is shy, and my suggestion is not a disservice since I make no judgments about shyness.
Therapy is always an option, but it's not always the only option. People overcome issues on their own, all the time. Looking someone in the eyes and smiling isn't meant as a cure for anything, but rather as one way to handle shyness on a date. That kind of behavior can help someone overcome intial shyness. Whether or not it's the cure, isn't the point.
Your comment suggests a shy person needs the help of a therapist before they can get over their shyness sufficient to date. My point is that's simply not true.
