I can't resist touting the San Francisco Bay Area as the best place to live or visit in the US. The weather is moderate, it only rains in the winter, and it's mostly sunny.
Just within the boundaries of the Bay Area are the ocean, beaches, the bay, mountains, lakes, cities, a million good restaurants, loads of goods and services, and a slew of over 50 folks.
The Bay Area is frequently mentioned as the most open, tolerant city in the US.
I've lived here for nearly 40 years and can't imagine any reason to leave.
Come and visit. I'll tell you where to eat and what to see. And yes, the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset is magnificent, and actually turns golden in color.
