In Response to RE: I'm ready to start over, but can't find a good man by golfinsailor
"As a man who has been on the scene for a long time, I could also ask where all the good women are as well. I can tell you where the good men are not."
Golf, that's a well thought-out answer and contains a lot of good suggestions. I think women ask this particular question much more than men do, so sometimes it seems as if most women think there are no good men left and they stop trying. I think what it really means is that they've tried the online sites and all of the usual places conventional wisdom dictates and where their well-meaning friends and family tell them to look and found them wanting.
Sometimes we just need to be reminded of the obvious. I think a lot of men need the same advice. Too frequently, I've heard about men who have hobbies they retreat to when it seems that good women are in short supply. These are indoor hobbies such as woodworking, trains, ham radio and other quiet pursuits. If these guys use their solitary hobbies to fill up their "lonely hours" and never take a break to get out, the good women will never find them, either.
Like all good hunters and huntresses, we should track our quarry in their own particular habitats...it just makes good sense.
