In Response to RE: I'm ready to start over, but can't find a good man by kenSdatingexpert
This is the risk that I would like for you, Nancy, John and AARP to take. Someone should tell the truth about how Single and Mingle became a platform for a dating site. John started the group as a different platform. One fine day, we came to the group to find the huge change with no explanation. Suddenly everything that we wrote about became a need for advice about dating. There is another rider that did post on here. He is a good man but I don't think that he enjoyed someone telling him how to date. That would be like telling him how to ride his bike. He has been riding for years and knows how. I think that he views dating the same way.
All that the core group has asked for is a truthful answer. It is true that AARP owns it, but seizing a site with no explanation is a bit scary to me.
For those of us who had our fill of dating sites, I don't believe that anyone will convience us that there is a good one to be found. I worry about the older, vunerable people who may try them. Some people do have different stages of diseases like dementia. I believe that older people should be protected. Dating sites are not a good way to do this.
