I relocated to Charlotte, NC last year and am finding it very difficult to meet people and make friends. I tried a 'senior center' but the people there were so much older and had their own groups......not too welcoming. I volunteer at Habitat for Humanity but the people there all have families and while friendly, don't seem to want to add to their circle of friends. Also tried the library and book clubs. They were mostly populated with people who were younger. I am female and until May of this year was a care giver for an elderly parent (she passed away) Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might go about meeting people and making friends?
It just seems that once people reach 60 their family and circle of friends are established and they really aren't that interested in making new friends.
