About the space...the loft area was around 934 square feet while this room is less than 120 square feet. I was sitting at my computer desk, looked around and estimated that I was using only about 1/3 of that and half of that for storage. LF was using 1/3 of that space already and was slowly spreading. So, I decided to move downstairs where I could have my OWN workspace, an island of cleanliness. Once I got moving, I found that I didn't have that much “stuff” to move. Lots of computer parts were for Win 3.1, 95 or 98 and in the trash they went. Shotgun ammo to a weapon that I no longer own I gave away. LF is dragging her feet on the project and I don't know how storage I'm going to have, but it'll probably be sufficient for my purposes. I just don't know.
As for the floors, I and my late life started looking for a one-story, brick house sometime in 1996 or 1997 when we were living in one with 3 stories. We stumbled upon this in June, 2004 and closed on it in July. As for being handicap accessible, we put in huge toilets when we moved in. The stairs to the loft have a real low pitch- the lowest of any home that we visited in any of our house hunting travels.
The back problem has pretty much cleared up. Because of the back, on Thursday I walked a few steps and had to stop, on Friday I walked a lot longer and today had a normal workout.
Here's what I do with AARP. I'm the chapter treasurer. I collect and deposit the receipts, write the few checks and give a 45 second report each meeting. That's it. I work on the numbers and leave the commie politics to somebody else.
Time to go eat an early lunch and then watch the Nebraska game on TV. Bye.
