Isn't this a switch of character for Obama to invite the republicans to a dinner with him.But when you think about it while Obama and the democrat party hasn't had a sit-down dinner with the republicans he and his party has dished out a lot of crow to them and while the republicans may not have enjoyed the fare very much Obama has made them eat plenty of it during his first term in office.
But Obama, it seems has made a epiphany in his second term in office in that the republican party members could be put to a better use than just kicking their a##es around and dishing them up a steady meal of crow.
This is where Obama's learned skills as a community Organizer is going to come in handy for Obama in his attempt to convience the republicans that in all that crow he and Obama's fellow democrats have made them eat that all that is in the past and their hearts are full of regret that they had behaved so badly towards the republicans.
The new Obama now seems to indicate by this friendly invite of the republicans to a dinner with him that he's ready to turn over a new leaf, a new beginnings, as it were, between him and the republicans. Obama's challenge will be to cajole the republians into buying into the idea that Obama now has a newly found respect and admiration that he never seemed to hold for them before, can he do it, well Obama is a lawyer and community organizer maybe he will be able to pull it off if the crows feathers aren't still sticking in the throats of the republicans from all that crow Obama has made them eat in the not too distant past. Maybe the republicans will think that, "Whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander" and will want to serve up some crow for Obama to eat before they turn over this new leaf Obama says he's in favor of doing.
