DO I HIT THE DOUGHNUT HOLE THIS MONTH?
If medicare had set up D so that an insurer would have to notify people of any changes when they made them and Medicare would allow switching plans within a period of 2 or 3 months thereafter, life would be a bit simpler for all. As pointed out Medicare.gov doesn't always get accurate updates from insurers so you have to double check directly before you commit to a plan so the time to change is too short.
