Lulu, If Obama reduces these subsidies to insurance companies by 177 billion dollars, and forces seniors on these Medicare Advantage plans to a different program, isn't he breaking his promise when he said, "If you like your current plan, you can keep it".
If one is stuck in thinking of modifying the present system, we aren't going to change or improve anything...under the present system the insurance co.s change M.A programs for seniors when they feel profits are not what they should be...they can and do tell people they cannot be covered for conditions members thought were covered when they signed up and they drop people who don't expect to be dropped
...Certainly in one sense, "if you like your current plan you can keep it" is going to get O. in trouble, especially if his hands are tied in trying to create fresh programs that provide better coverage at lower prices for all the reasons I spoke to in previous posts...
