KittyKat9: I just got a reply from Walgreen on my question regarding Advair Diskus generic. Long story short...In the United States Advair has agreements that no generic can be used until June 2009, but other stipulations are in the agreement that may prevent generic until 2010 or 2011 when their agreements run out. Meanwhile the generic can be found on Canadian Drug sites, however, it is not that inexpensive. My price in the donut hole at Walgreen's just dropped to $134.50 which is really low for me. I also get a $10.00 cupon from www.BEoffers.com which is an Advair Diskus site. I think this example shows how corporations can twist regulations to their advantage and to the disadvantage of the consumer who, after all,are helping them to gain profits. The government needs to stop this type of corporate greed. Let's do something about all the special interest lobbist who help to bring this about and elect representatives who support the public not the corporations.!
Well, consider youirself lucky. I just called my Walgreen's and the 250/50 Advair diskus is $256 which is more than CVS charges me now and even if you are taking the lessor 150/25 (I think whatever it is lessor than the one I take) their lowest prices is $208. I asked how could two Walgreens be that disparate and he stumbled and stuttered about shipping costs, source, etc. None of which makes any sense to me. But guess I'm just **** for the remainder of this year. I have to go to the hairdresser but when I get a chance I plan to call corporate Walgreens to try for a better answer....do you use the 250/50 strength so that I have apples to apples to talk to them about?
