I signed up for the Rx plan when I first joined in April 09--planning to use the website for ordering. When I clicked on "my account" and followed the links to get my med costs, I got the info that all my meds were "not covered"; since I was out I got 90 days supply from Walmart for what I pay AARP Rx for one month's dues!
When I called AARP/UHC Rx to drop their coverage given the website experience, the person informed me of a completely non-intuitive way to navigate the website under mail order pharmacy to find that my drugs WERE covered!
However, since a 3-mo. supply w/Walmart is still 1/3 the cost of 3 months of AARP Rx dues, I requested cancellation of AARP Rx coverage. She told me I could not cancel even given the circumstances of misleading and false website info. and that I'd have to wait until Nov. to get out of this program...
Does anyone have any insight into this type of situation? How to cancel this coverage given the circumstances?
I am steamed at having to wait 3 weeks to get a form from AARP/UHC Rx to fill out to review my complaint about a misleading website! So I am going to call Medicare's complaint dept. as well as my main AARP plan provider and go at this situation like a Rottweiler!
