My SisterIN Law works for TSA and she tells me this should never have happened:
I am a RED HAT LADY. I attended a convention in Nashville and bought a new hat which cost me $190. I was returning home and had packed the hat in a large red hatbox to carry on the plane. The TSA CHILD (and he was a very young kid) had to open my hatbox and run his hand through ALL the elaborate feathers--breaking MANY of them. He absolutely ruined my hat! To top it off, he then could not figure out how to put the lid back down on the box, so he squashed all the feathers into it and closed it. The entire hat was RUINED.
My daughter-in-law was a TSA for several years. She also sais this should not have happened ----
My husband had his luggage searched his last trip in August from Austin to Chicago. They took apart his Norelco Triple-Head electric razor. And then put it in a bag and replaced to his bag - unassembled. He travels at least 100+ per year for the business we own. He traveled that much with his former employer prior to starting our business. He has had this same elec razor for 5 years and a similar one for 6 yrs before that - anyway, this was the first time any TSA felt the need to tear apart his razor. He is a clever man and put it back together - but what the heck was that about??? Power can really make people do STUPID things - and you don't dare complain or you may find yourself in a little room, waiting for airport security.
