Anyone out there had experience with BCBS/TX Medicare Supplemental Insurance Plans? Will be turning 65 soon and wanted to hear people's comments on their experiences with the the Supplemental Plans offered by BCBS in Texas. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
Didn't get any really helpful responses to my question. I have done considerable research on my own. I found the tools and explanations on Medicare.gov to be very helpful. Also, the Texas Department of Insurance site, Texashealthoptions.com. The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas site, bcbtx.com, also has some very useful tools for comparing its plans offered in the state of Texas including its medicare and prescription drug plans. The BCBS site was useful for determining which of its plans seemed best for me. The Texas site was good for comparing the BCBS plans I selected with other plans offered in the state of Texas. Both original medicare and medicare advantage and prescription drug plans. I'm currently leaning towards going with Original Medicare parts A & B, with a BCBX of TX Medigap Plan F and BCBX of TX Standard Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. I've been insured by BCBX of TX since 2003 on an individual policy and coverage and claims handling have been excellent. The Texas site showed some other companies that might be a little cheaper but given my past excellent experience with BCBX of Tx. I think I'll stick with the horse I rode in on.
