In prior years, my estimates based on the Medicare site were more or less correct. This years estimate is way off.
It seems to me that the Medicare site is less reliable for me as a predictor of Medicare D co-pay cost than it used to be.
Medicare .gov depends on insurers input and sometimes the data isn't updated. You really have to go to the insurer's website to check. That's a real nuisance when no data is posted before Nov.15 accordibg to Medicare rules! It really is too short a time to go through the available options and change plans before year's end.
We changed D providers again this year because Humana jumped their premium to more than double '08. I suspect they are trying to make us pay for investment losses more than increased health costs.
