I agree everyone in America should have healthcare but if you think we are going to get it by calling our Congressman you need to have your head examined. They are part of the problem not the solution!
Abraham Lincoln put it correctly when he described our government as "of the people, by the people, and for the people." If we ourselves are responsible for the government, what is all of this by Reagan/Bush types about "getting the government out of our way?" We should get out of our own way? That doesn't make any sense.
If Congresspersons are the problem, as you say, well, we are the ones who elected them. Why would we elect people who make problems? Because we are lied to. All the time. No one can doubt that the Bush/Cheney people finally were able to get the government out of the way of corporate America. So, what has happened as a result?
Fact: America, the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the history of the world, has degenerated into third-world status regarding health care under the Republicans since Reagan. Why? Because, once again, the Reagan/Bush people have gotten the government out of corporate America's way. But dead and sick people don't make an economic depression. So it's harder to track. Unless you're sick or dying. If you are, gee, too bad. If you're not, and your kids are ok, well, it's someone else. Not my problem, eh?
I still say, write your congressman/woman. Call on the phone. Get mad as hell. And if they are in fact the problem, tell them so. Throw the bums out.
