I guess I'm missing something. I don't know (yet) what these plans cost and how medicare works and what it pays for/does not pay for.
I see a figure of $96 amonth. If that pretty much covers you, that sure seems reasonable.
Does anyone know some numbers? Average out of pocket costs for people on medicare that do not have supplemental insurance? I sure know what private insurance costs, but don't know what will happen when I'm eligible for medicare.
Medicare B provides pretty limited coverage . Check Medicare.gov for details . I think most people have supplemental plans which vary in coverage from almost complete to HMO types. They go from C to K or so,again check the site. The Advantage plans have been pushed and susidized by Medicare, but I've been leary of them because they're more like HMO's and have to have higher premiums as Medicare withdraws subsidies which they should.
